Cogswell Scientific, LLC was founded in February 2025 by Dan Cogswell to offer technical consulting services with a focus on scientific computing. Dan has a PhD in Materials Science from MIT as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Materials Science from Northwestern University. He has worked in the lithium-ion battery industry, the oil and gas industry, and as an as an academic researcher. His work has spanned mathematical and physics-based modeling, numerical methods, electrochemical characterization in the lab, and open-source software development.
